Next Saturday will be a followup to explain some of the basics of working the the DOSBox command prompt.
#Tyrian 2000 special input how to
Knowing how to work with these settings can help improve the quality of the games you run in DOSBox. The first one I've made is a run-through of the most important settings you can manipulate in a DOSBox configuration file. Happy Holidays, everyone! I figured to give myself a break so I can enjoy this holiday season moreso I'd do a couple filler episodes. Loads, can set up the game but boots back to DOS on entering a match.Click here to watch ADG Filler #3 - DOSBox Configuration Files! Works fine, fully playable, screens fade slow though. Works fine, fully playable with joystick. Playable but very slow, with slight cursor flickering and sound distortion. Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest
#Tyrian 2000 special input full
Works well (with PC Speaker sound), but mouse cursor can't go more than half way down the screen, making full mouse control of game impossible. But it played really well, with sound, until then.Įcoquest 2 - The Lost Secret of the RainforestįRUA (Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures Seems to be working much better in the new version fo DOSbox! Played for a while, but then had a random lockup.

Starts up ok, then sits at loading screen for a bit, then attempts to get to the main menu, but freezes at the background cinematic behind the main menu, however the sound still contains to play behind it, so the game technically is still "running", but the screen is hanging. If you want to have it decently run set frameskip to 1 set cycles 6000 Screen flickers between menus, cutscenes are sluggish, no sound, and ingame is extremly slow. The cursor doesn't react to well to the wii-mote's movements. Game slow at start-up not to sure about in-game as mouse was stuck to left side of screen. Working, but graphics corrupted during game - makes it unplayable Usually around 80%ĭavid Leadbetter's Greens (1992 - Micropose) First time I tried, the intro music was playing but the title screen didn't fade out.
#Tyrian 2000 special input code
The visual gets stuck at the title screen and causes a DOS/4GW code dump crash. Still works fine, albeit slow.Ĭommander Keen 1: Invasion of the Vorticons Seems to run best around cycles around 3000.ġ.7: Map generation seems to take even longer on 1.7. Shows copyright text, wii freezes, code dumps soon after.ġ.6: New world map creation takes a long time, but besides that it works great. I'd recommend cycles set at fixed 1500.ġ.7: Works well, however sometimes randomly crashes at any difficulty above Chieftain. Starts to load, but crashes back to the loader where the mouse button prompt should be.ġ.6: Works perfectly. Loading between missions takes a few seconds and cutscenes are slow, ingame works perfect. You can change the input device in Options menu later. Detects WiiMote as a joystick, so press + or A to continue. Runs, but joystick control(?) goes all spaztic, making it practically impossible to select menu options. The game slows down if you don't keep the cursor position still. The emulator is too slow and the game stops after the splash screen. Slight music stutter animations running well now (Had to change the display to 640x480)Įrror after loading and returns to the prompt. Will crash on cycles=max.īard's Tale 1, The (Tales of the Unknown) Use cycles=fixed 4000 (or less) for best results. Works perfectly but a bit slowly with slight input delay.

Mouse is very fast on the menu, but this goes for the PC too.Ĭrashes with a code dump after +/- a minute of gameplay. Working, but there is a horrible buzz as soon as the ball bounces on something. Intermittent cursor issues (not reaching to left side of screen during certain scenes), resolvable by moving cursor to opposite edges of screen.įeels a bit slow, but working, Classic controller works as joystick. Reduce sound clipping by setting block size to 8192. Some lag, especially during scene transitions. If I recall correctly, I hadn't any problems running this game It works as a simple easy menu should work to load dos apps. Working, but slow, sound is a complete mess Red represents games that do not load and have major problems and/or are unplayable, or have consistent lock ups.ġ942: The Pacific Air War (1994 - Micropose) Orange represents games that mostly work but with more serious but playable bugs, or random lockups (random doesn't mean lock up every time at the same spot in the game). Green represents games that work 100% or just have slight audio/video stutter or anything else that doesn't effect gameplay.
